Supporting Domestic Violence Awareness
Chances are you or someone you care about has been a victim of domestic violence. It’s something many people experience, but few want to talk about. It’s time we start spreading more awareness about domestic violence and highlighting resources for the victims and the abusers to seek treatment and counseling. It’s estimated that a woman in the United States is assaulted or beaten every nine seconds. In fact, Domestic violence is the leading cause of injury to women—more than car accidents, muggings, and rapes combined.
It’s because of this significant issue, that our own CEO, Billy Smith, decided to join efforts with Courtney Glaudé and his local film production company, Green Eyed Theater, to produce the critically acclaimed film BLINK. This heart-pounding drama depicts the story of domestic abuse and human brokenness. Nailah Belle, played by Bianca Siplin, is the epitome of beauty and strength and her husband, Chris, played by Will Scott, appears to be the flawless partner. While their life appears to be perfect, all is not what it seems to be. As this riveting story unfolds viewers are at the edge of their seats for a surprise ending that no one saw coming.
The Premiere of BLINK to Raise Domestic Violence Awareness
The film premiered for the Houston community on July 29th to a packed theater. Both performances were a remarkable success and due to the high demand, BES Group/Solutions Plus and Green Eyed Theater will be offering an encore screening of BLINK on August 19, 2017, at 6 pm.
